Paul Ramsay Foundation Funds TARGET ZER0

We are delighted to announce that Westjustice and the Centre for Multicultural Youth's ambitious TARGET ZER0 program has been funded by the Paul Ramsay Foundation. This adds to the funding already received from the Victorian Legal Services Board. The funding will enable a brave and bold coalition of youth and community services to target zero criminalisation of young people aged 10-25 in the Brimbank, Wyndham and Melton LGAs over the next ten years, and the overrepresentation of First Nations young people; multicultural young people and young people in residential care in the criminal justice systems.  

Director of Westjustice’s Youth Law Program, Ms Anoushka Jeronimus, said that through their youth law and partnership work, she and her team are constantly seeing the issues that young people face. Ms Jeronimus said “the issues that affect young people, their families and our western suburbs communities can only be solved by everyone working together and critically, with the communities most impacted.” TARGET ZER0 will bring together all facets of the community to work towards ending youth criminalisation and overrepresentation.
