Westjustice Financial Counsellor Receives Rising Star Award

Our very own superstar, Sarah Duane, has won the 2022 Rising Star Award at the recent Financial Counselling Gala dinner. This award recognises Sarah’s excellence in service delivery to vulnerable clients. Sarah has been instrumental in the success of the Restoring Financial Safety Project by aiding many women facing financial insecurity and helping them achieve life changing outcomes. She has also been part of a select few involved in a 12-month family violence pilot of One Stop One Story Hub with Thriving Communities Partnership. Sarah has also provided training to family violence social workers on the topic of Financial Counselling with Victim Survivors of Economic Abuse, assisting social workers to better identify economic and make targeted referrals for clients. 

She is an active participant of many Financial Counselling working groups and often raises the alarm on concerning and predatory industry practices. She is an asset to Westjustice and the communities we serve, and we are thrilled to see her hardwork and dedication recognized and rewarded.
